Eligible Grants
MedImmune provides grants to support independent medical education programs such as Continuing Medical Education (CME) and/or other accredited Continuing Education (CE). All accredited programs must follow the standards set forth in the "Standards for Commercial Support for Continuing Medical Education" issued by the Accreditation Counsel for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) or other similar accrediting organization.

- Influenza
- Pediatric respiratory viral disease
- AutoImmune Disease (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Rheumatoid Arthritis)

MedImmune provides financial support for programs that focus on improvements or quality in healthcare and education on a full range of treatment options. MedImmune does not support programs that promote a particular medicine.
Grant Submission
We are now accepting applications for independent medical education. Click here to submit your grant application.
Medical education grants applications are received and processed through the AstraZeneca portal. These grants are reviewed and evaluated solely by MedImmune.
IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to ensure these grants are appropriately forwarded to MedImmune, all such grant requests should designate:
Area of Educational Interest: MedImmune
SubCategory: MedImmune
The application should designate ‘MedImmune’ as the Primary area of focus and one of the following disease states:
- Influenza
- Pediatric respiratory viral disease
- AutoImmune Disease (Rheumatoid Arthritis and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus)
The application should also designate MedImmune as an additional area of focus.
Review Process
- Grant requestor submits grant request via online grant application process
- Requests must be submitted at least six weeks prior to your program date or event
- After the online application is submitted, a confirmation page will verify the Grant ID number for your request
- The Grant Office will review your application against predetermined criteria
- In most cases, you will be notified via email within six weeks as to whether your program has been approved for funding
- If your grant has been approved, the requestor will receive a letter of agreement (LOA) for review and signature
- Once the Grant Office has received the signed LOA, the funds will be processed and sent to the requestor
MedImmune Fellowship Support
Grant applications for fellowship support (up to $25,000) are now being accepted for 2012-2013.

Independent national professional organizations/societies may request a grant to support advanced study by fellows in the following areas:
- Neonatology
- Pediatric Infectious Disease
- Pediatric Pulmonology
- Pediatric Critical Care/Cardiology
Fellowship grant applications from anyone other than an independent national professional organization such as individual institutions will not be accepted.
